I feel like a complete scrooge. Yesterday someone decorated our lobby with the tackiest Christmas decorations you can imagine. I can't take them down because it will hurt her feelings. But these are seriously the ugliest decorations I've ever seen - I would rather have no decorations than have trashy ones. However, it would appear I am the only one who thinks that way.

Work has been a little strange lately. I spend most of my time dealing with people and, as most of you know, I don't like people. However, I can fake being a nice person pretty well. But lately everyone seems exceptionally stupid and I'm not handling it very well. The only job I have been able to think of that would have little human contact is those people who live on top of mountains and look for forest fires all day. And that would be quite a commute for Chad. Tuesday was a very bad day at work and I was ready to quit and then a client gave me $50 and a very nice card. Darn it, my faith in people was momentarily restored. But not to worry, I'm sure someone will take it away today.

My immediate family is having our Christmas on December 20th. That is like 8 days. Mum's gift I ordered online and it won't be here in time (sorry mum), Mandy's needs to be wrapped, and I bought dad a Netflix subscription, but I would like to get him something he can actually open too. Probably socks, he loves socks. Or treats for the dog. Brother-in-law doesn't get anything. Lame, I know - but my gift would just cancel out Mandy's gift to Chad, so we are both just not getting them things this year. I doubt either of them notice. So I guess there isn't that much left to do. I saw a crafty idea for wrapping presents online - I will attempt it and post pictures if it turns out ok.

Cool, Josh will love your crafty idea for wrapping - my wrapping he says is never "up to snuff" - he does a much better job. And you're right. The boys won't notice they aren't getting gifts, b/c they really don't care b/c they're not present people. (Unlike their wives who are DEFINITELY present people.)
