Poetry

I think my favorite poems are by Ogden Nash. I have never been a big fan of poetry, but his are short, too the point and funny. I wanted to put this one on our Wedding Program, but someone said No. Sometimes I think that someone could take this advice!

A Word to Husbands
To keep your marriage brimming
With love in the loving cup,
Whenever you're wrong, admit it;
Whenever you're right, shut up.

I Feel Angry

I don't understand some people. A lot of people actually, but especially some. Some that I work with.

What would happen if every person who worked there acted the way they did? The place couldn't function! Someone has to care enough to be there when they are scheduled and keep the place running. Sometimes it is hard to be that person.

So I am in for another very long week of working too much overtime and then getting in trouble for working so much overtime because he doesn't want to pay me that much overtime.

National Blog Posting Month

Think I can post everyday in June?

Me neither.

But I can try! We have some prompts over here, so that might help when I have nothing else to talk about.

There are 2 baby kittens that came into the animal shelter a week ago. They require feeding every 3-4 hours, so Darla and I have been taking them home every night. They are pretty cute. We named them Bill and Ted. But then Ted turned out to be a girl so I renamed her Chandler and renamed Bill, Frank Jr. Jr. If you don't get it then you probably shouldn't be reading my blog. Except John, Tim and Josh, I don't expect you guys to get it.

I will try to get a photo of them up soon. Right now they are asleep in my bathtub.

Whew, 1 day down, 29 to go!

A List

1. I am either sick, or have the worst allergies ever. Yesterday I started not feeling great and by this morning I thought my face was going to explode. I still can't hear anything out of my right ear and am very congested, yet also have a runny nose. I feel like crap.

2. Camry has decided to start watching Law & Order at 3:00 in the morning. Loudly. Last night we woke up to a booming voice, "IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM..." Chad got up to see why the TV was suddenly on, and found Camry sitting next to the remote on the couch. Sorry buddy, but we only watch TV during awake hours.

3. Chad is going to St. Louis this weekend for a board game convention. You should have heard him making a hotel reservation for "Geekway to the West" - it was hilarious. Whoever he was talking to couldn't understand him, so he kept saying "GEEKWAY TO THE WEST" louder and louder and finally ended up spelling it. G-E-E-K-W-A-Y... it was awesome.

4. I worked 55 hours last week. That is 15 too many.

5. There are two stray cats who think they live on my porch. Probably because they are living on my porch. I do not feed them. I do not pet them. I spray them with a water bottle and yell at them to go away like a crazy old lady. And yet, they remain.

6. Did I mention the stray cats are lovers? Well they are. They are loving each other on my front porch and pretty soon there will probably be lots of little kittens who think they live on my porch and then what am I supposed to do!?

Love

Well, as many of you know, I am married and have been for almost four years. But lately, I've been feeling a little unfulfilled. Like I need another person in my life. Not a replacement for Chad, just an addition.

Today, I found him. His name is Andrew and he is four years old. We went to lunch together (with his mom and sister) and he colored me a picture and then we held hands as we crossed the street.

After lunch he told his mom that he loves me and he thinks I am nice. Now he is my boyfriend. I can't understand a lot of what he is saying, but he doesn't seem to mind. He even let me play with his Nintendo DS. And by that, I mean he offered to let me play, and then let me watch him play.

Uh Oh

Am I that girl that has a blog and never updates it? I fear that I am. Crap, I hate that girl.

I am at work with an hour to waste before closing time. Today has been absolutely beautiful. Snow is expected on Saturday. Boo.

The Pet Peeve of the Day has been: Poop. Why are people so scared of their pet's poop? We deal with it all day everyday and when I ask someone to bring some for a fecal test, they act like I am asking them to take a bath in it or something - all you have to do is put it in a ziploc bag, people!!

Then, if they manage to get close enough to it to put it in a bag, they bring it in here, holding it as far away from them as they can and shake it at me - "Take it, take it, take it!" Are you kidding me!? Do you not poop scoop your yard? Does your pet never have accidents in the house? There is just something about them having to actually travel somewhere with the poop that skeeves people out. And I am just about sick of it.

Well, enough about poop for today.
