Dan - My dad is a manly sort of man who likes to be lifted. He went halfsies on it with a guy from work so they could both do manly things, like replace windows and gutters and stuff.

John - If I tell my dad you are also a manly man I'm sure he will allow you to rent it for cheap. Or for expensive. I'm not really sure what he would charge. However, he lives an hour and a half away from you. So I guess if you want to go that far just for a man lift you probably can.

Everyone (besides my 3 regular commenters) - I am disappointed that the man lift is getting more interest than my new car. No, you can't all make nice comments about the car now because I will know you are only doing it to make me feel better. You have missed your chance.

Dad's Toy

Dad bought a man lift. Bad lighting in these photos, sorry.

That is me. Way up there.

Dad said I would get a nose bleed. I said if I can jump out
of an airplane, I'm pretty sure I can handle your man lift.

Tent? Anyone?

The manager from Walgreens called me last week and asked if I would like to set up some sort of "Adoption Day" with them - we would bring some animals down to the store, they would help promote it, give away pet supplies with each adoption, etc. We scheduled it for a Saturday in August, and right now I am on the lookout for a canopy-type tent to help provide a little shade for the volunteers and the animals. So if anyone in the area has one they would let me borrow, let me know! Also, everyone who reads this and lives within an hour and a half of me will be required to come to the adoption day and adopt no less than one (1) animal. More details to come.

Monday

It is Monday morning and I am going to write a quick post before work. I can't decide if I will take Camry to work with me or not - he has been vomiting like a crazy cat, I think I will shoot an x-ray and see if something is in there.
Tomorrow I am not going to work and am going to my parent's house instead. Then mom and Mandy and I will drive to West Burlington, IA for my Aunt's visitation and funeral and then come home on Wednesday.

We went to the Royal's game yesterday - I almost died from heat stroke, but no sunburn! A cute little boy in a white seersucker suit played the National anthem on a trumpet - he was pretty good! And the Royal's lost.

Ok, I am going to go find Camry and get to work. Have a great day!

Today is a very slow day at work. I have had a headache for 2 days that can't make up it's mind. Does it hurt really bad? Does it hurt just a little bit? Does it hurt in my neck? Does it hurt behind my eyes? It doesn't know.

There are 3 more hours of working left, then I will go home and make the always fantastic Steak Bites and Crash Hot Potatoes, courtesy of The Pioneer Woman. My grandpa is delivering my quarter of a cow sometime tonight and he has never been to my house, so I guess I should clean up a little bit.

Chad and I saw "The Hangover" last night with some of his friends from work. It was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. No mom, I don't think you should watch it. But it was funny.

The boss man is gone for the rest of this week and all of next week. He left me an envelope with some cash in case we needed supplies or something while he was gone. He wrote "Katie's Slush Fund" on the envelope - My first thought was "like a slush from sonic?" Or is "slush" an alternate term for something that I don't know about - like drugs? Not sure. Any opinions?
